Senior group

At the end of last year we started the process of working on the European project Human Mosaic. This means that we mapped out a program of workshops for different age groups, including seniors. And because the aim was from the very beginning to bring people around the headquarters closer to and through theater, we got in touch with the Sector 6 Seniors Club. That’s how the members of the theater troupe there – Some people like theater – started in January a module of workshops on research and personal development through theater at Masca.

The initial goal, to identify their own voice and to dramatize their own life stories to join with the stories of the other ages in the project, was quickly achieved and we were soon simply overwhelmed by the energy, enthusiasm and, one could say, professionalism of these people. They put so many personal projects aside for a while (the rest of their club activities, vacations, analysis and more) and dedicated themselves to this project in a way that won all of us in the theater over.

In fact, their performance during the workshops, together with Anamaria Pîslaru and Sorin Dinculescu, was one of the most sincere and touching moments that this theater has hosted during this time. Almost then, on the spot, during the viewing, we in the theater took together the decision to propose to the seniors to be with us beyond the Human Mosaic project.

To our joy they accepted, so their show is now in a stage of dramatic restructuring and will enter our repertoire in the fall.

Moreover, we propose these wonderful people to participate in another project that will start in the fall: (Im)possible! – a performative installation with professional actors, senior amateur actors and young performers, a project whose team includes Mihai Ivascu, Anca Stoica and Sergiu Diță.
