A Romanian Diary. #HereWeDreamOfChange

About the show
“A Romanian Diary. #HereWeDreamOfChange” at Masca Theater was born out of a deep need to document and give voice to collective anxieties.
Often, theater functions as a mirror of society, but in the case of this show, I wanted it to be a megaphone.
In a world where change is being whispered, I wanted this project to be a clear and confident voice.
Romania is a country that dreams, but this dream is often covered by frustration, a lack of real dialog, a constant feeling of powerlessness.
This show is about those people who have not given up on the dream. They are the engine of change.
Beyond being pure entertainment or pure art, theater has enormous political power. It asks questions, provokes and can awaken the collective conscience.
I firmly believe that theater, when done with authenticity and courage, can change perspectives, can provoke inner revolutions.
In “A Romanian Diary. #HereWeDreamOfChange” from Masca Theater we talk about dreaming, courage and community.
We have worked a lot with real stories and direct testimonies of the actors.
In “A Romanian Diary. #HereWeDreamOfChange” at Masca Theatre, the team of actors is more than just an artistic team. Through them, art becomes a tool for change.
I’m talking about the responsibility we have towards those around us.
This team is not afraid to tackle taboo subjects and ask difficult questions, and I am proud that A Romanian Diary is a platform through which they can make their voices heard.
Creating art means taking a stand, taking a perspective, refusing indifference.
I believe that our society is in desperate need of art that speaks directly to current issues.
I don’t just want the audience to leave impressed or moved, but inspired to take action, to get involved in their community.
If this show manages to move a person, to make them question or take a stand, then our goal has been achieved.
I want theater to be courage. I wish that actors and audiences would not be afraid to tackle difficult subjects. Their dialogue can influence the world because the world is always in need of new visions.
I believe that theater, like any art form, must have a purpose – and my purpose is to leave a better world behind…
