theater as an alternative educational platform
We are concerned about the dynamic between theater and teenagers, and through MASCA TEEN, we want to extend a hand to the audience and the future high school audience. This educational project is a non-formal one, whose aim is to anchor young people in relationship with themselves, with contemporary society, but also with the cultural space through direct contact with theater actors and dramatic texts (both new and established)
In addition to non-formal workshops in dramatic reading and improvisation, MASCA TEEN, is an invitation to the segment of performances curated especially for young audiences.

by Joel Pommerat
Based on a number of interviews with residents of a residential neighborhood in the city of Caen, Joël Pommerat explores in ten short scenes the complex relationships between parents and children. The angles of approach differ from scene to scene, but they have in common the gray zone where fulfillment and disappointment, past and future, love and hope meet. Despite differences in age, emotional baggage or social background, the characters who inhabit this gray zone and the situations in which we find them expose the fragility of the “basic cell of society”

Memoirs of a Lolo
Lolo battled her lifelong hunger for validation, which only led to frustration, loneliness and depressive episodes. After she died, all of her texts were found in notebooks hidden in the basement of her house: from the fairy tales she wrote at age 7 about princesses who disappoint their parents to the cryptic poems she wrote in the latter part of her life.
MEMOIRS OF A LOLO is a show for those who can’t sleep some nights because they think about the times they were embarrassing in 6th grade. It’s a show for those who have thought for once that everything we do is just because we want to be liked, to be loved.
The performance is the result of a 2-month work lab held last summer, in which the 9 Fresh Start 6th edition residents experimented and explored the methods of devised and performative theater. The idea for the performance was born out of the discussions and exercises that the participants did, and was a collaborative process.
Performance produced within the project “Fresh Start. 6th Edition”, co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. The project does not necessarily represent the position of the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the program or how the results of the program can be used. These are entirely the responsibility of the grantee. Show co-financed by Uniter.
